How to give to God for the recovery of his community?
Saturday July 15, 2023
Theme: "How to give to God for the recovery of his community?" Text: Matthew 5:21-24
21. You have heard that it was said to the ancients: Thou shalt not kill; whoever kills deserves to be punished by the judges. 22. But I tell you that whoever becomes angry with his brother deserves to be punished by the judges; than he who says to his brother: Raca! deserves to be punished by the Sanhedrin; and whoever says to him, Fool! deserves to be punished by Gehenna fire. 23. If therefore you present your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24. leave your gift there before the altar, and go first be reconciled to your brother; then, come and present your offering.

Let's remember:

Through this text, the Lord God challenges us about love. We need to remove the grudge and resentment that darken our lives. Evil must not drag on in our being, otherwise our presence before God will be null and void of meaning. It is with a free heart and without resentment that one advances before God with or without an offering; knowing that the true offering remains our heart. The Eternal God wants our offerings to bear the mark of purity. If we are not clean, neither will our offering. When an offering comes from a person reconciled with God and with his neighbour, it brings joy to God. Our offering will never smell sweet if it is given to God when we have not been reconciled with Him and/or with our neighbour. Let us always be reconciled with our neighbour, let us remove the breaks in our understanding with others. Let's not move towards God without scanning our spiritual state of mind. At the slightest suspicion of sin, let us quickly seek forgiveness. Let us take care of our faith, our heart and our offerings will smell pleasant before God. He will accept them with joy, while blessing us. Let's not leave with our offering which was intended for God and the community. Let us offer ourselves as an offering to God if we want to be pleasing to him. This is the key to the recovery of our community. Excellent Saturday. Amen Alain Louz.-
