God and Our Properties

Theme : “ God and Our Properties ” Text : James 5:1-5
1. Over to you, rich! Weep and groan, because of the misfortunes that will come upon you. 2. Your riches are rotten, and your clothes are moth-eaten. 3. Your gold and silver are rusty; and their rust shall be a testimony against you, and shall devour your flesh like fire. You have amassed treasures in the last days! 4. Behold, the wages of the laborers who have reaped your fields, and of which you have defrauded them, cries, and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts. 5. You have lived on earth in voluptuousness and delight, you have satiated your hearts on the day of carnage.
When the pride of wealth rises in the heart of the rich, God does not hesitate to destroy the possessions on which this wealth is built. Every fortune is the result of hard work. This is why the workers who sacrifice themselves to advance the work must be spared. It is not good to leave the workers without their wages. Nor should you frustrate them at the risk of triggering your ruin. God is the advocate or trade unionist of badly treated workers; it is He who can make the bad boss sink into misfortune. When the worker is not well supported by his boss, a gap is created to engulf the rich with his possessions. If a boss mistreats his workers, rust and moth will in turn mistreat the boss and his property. So let's get rid of arrogance and greed in labor relations. Wealth should not elevate our hearts to pride; this is worship and is punishable before God. Let us serve God with our properties while respecting our workers. Excellent Thursday. Amen Alain Louz.-
