Theme: “The Christian facing death
Text: Psalms 89:49

49. Is there a man who can live and not see death, Who can save his soul from hell?

Let's remember:

We will all go to death. Death is stuck to our carnal nature inherited from Adam. For every human creature, death is an obligatory passage before returning home to the celestial city. However, it should be noted that death is not inevitable. Death is not the end in itself. It is not always a sanction but it symbolizes the end of one cycle and the beginning of another. Death becomes fatal when it surprises a person who has not accepted Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior. Such a person is doomed to eternal death because salvation is in Jesus, the only Name given to us by which we must be saved. Jesus inflicted a snub on death; by tearing away its sting and its power. He disarmed death; and therefore it will no longer be able to retain the children of God in its abode: death has become a gateway leading to eternal rest. Faced with death, the Christian must be reassured because death is not an exception made to pagans; it is the afterlife that differs: the pagan will be lost and the Christian saved. The Christian will also experience death but only temporarily, he will be resurrected and return to the Father's dwelling place while the pagan will go into the lake burning with fire and sulfur which is the second death (Rev. 21.8). John 8:51 says “If anyone keeps my word, he will never see death.” Have a great Wednesday. Amen
